NL Season Ending Awards

Here are the BYOFonline 2nd annual NL Awards. These are just for fun. Many managers and players could be awarded these. I hope to bring in voting for future seasons.

NL Manager of the year

There were lots of worthy candidates, John, Nghia, Scott and Jeremy. John won back to back Division titles, Nghia made some good trades and won the WC, Scott just missed the playoffs but really improved from last season and Jeremy won NL East in his first BYOF season.

The winner is Scott - Fort Collins. He went from 60 to 93 wins. Lost out on the wild card in the final days of the season. Congratulations Scott.

NL MVP

This came down to two players Pujols (HUN) and Derick Lee (FTC). Both had scary numbers.

The winner is Derrek Lee - Fort Collins. Lee lead the league in batting .376, HR (52) and was second in RBI's with 145. We 99% usage he completely out performed his MLB numbers. Where would FTC of been without Lee?

NL Cy Young

What a list of potential candidates. Halladay (HUN), Garland (PHI), Prior (FLY) and Lowery (CHI).

The winner is John Garland - Philly Smackdown. Garland was 19-9 with a 3.41 ERA. He also did this while only getting 4.3 runs a game in support.

NL Best Closer

Many exceptional players could of won this. Howry (HUN), Politte (FLY) and Riveria (PHI), Wheeler (FTC) and Lidge (WIN).

The winner is Cliff Politte - Dayton Flyers. He converted 37 of 39 saves opportunity. He also had a scray 1.03 ERA. Politte did not give up a run in the first half of the season.

I hope you enjoyed these. As I said I would like a voting process for next season.

Warrington Has Catching Help Available + MiL Picks

If you are in the market for a catcher, contact me. I have Benji Molina to move.
Molina hit .284 with 19 HR's and 483 AB's, killing Lefties at a .358 clip.

I'm not looking for studs, just either a decent/comparitable reliever or OF'er.

I own top pick in each round and will move MiL picks. Just ask.

AL Awards - Show me the Waye

Here are the BYOFonline 2nd annual AL Awards. These are just for fun. Many managers and players could be awarded these. I hope to bring in voting for future seasons.

AL Manager of the Year:

There are many great managers. My top two choices would be Chris Waye (ALA) and Rocky Hall (CIN). Chris led Alabama to the best record in BYOF and Rocky had over 100 wins taking the AL West title in the final weeks of the season.

The winner is Chris Waye (ALA). It's never easy winning year after year but Chris showed why he is the class of BYOF.

AL MVP

A few players had exceptional years. Alex Rodriguez (BEA), David Ortiz (ALA), and Travis Hafter (TIG) to name a few.

Haftner arguably had the best season. He won the batting title , plus OBP and SLG. He also out played his MLB numbers in BYOF. That being said he also played on a losing team. AROD hit 48HR's and drove in 128 runs. He led the AL in runs scored with 136

The winner is David Ortiz (ALA). He played on a first place club and lead the league in Hits, HR's and RBIs. He also hit .318 which is not too shabby. What a season .318, 199 hits, 50 HR, 152 RBI.

AL CY YOUNG

This was my toughest decision. Andy Pettitte (ALA) had a super year going 27-6 and a 3.03 ERA. 27 wins is rare but he also had 6.2 runs a game in support.

The winner is Derek Lowe (CIN) 22-8, 3.99 ERA. I chose Lowe because he outperformed his numbers. He was only 12-15 in MLB and ended up winning 22 on a first place club.

Either of these players would of been excellent choices.

AL Best Closer

Both Hoffman (JER) and Wagner (ALA) had great seasons.

The winner is Billy Wagner 7-4, 1.88 ERA and converted 38 of 42 save opportunities.

I hope you enjoyed these. As I said I would like a voting process for next season.

NL Awards will be coming soon.

Forum Hacked

I know some of you saw this already. The website forum was hacked. It appears the forum was out of date and thus not able to block this hacking attempt. I'm in the process of trying to fix it. I might need to re-install a new one or get one from another company.

Thank you for your patience.
