shhhh as Deadline Passes

The trade deadline passed with no more deals. It's tough to put together deals at the last minute in Sim Leagues. Most managers would wanted to make deals got them done before.

Trading will resume a few days after October 15th. This is when our 22 man protected lists are due. I will let you know exactly.

You can make deals now but you cannot annouce them till trading resumes.

Deadline Thursday Night

The trade deadline for the 2006 season is approaching fast. Are you buying or selling?

Dublin continues to sell and rebuild quickly. Winnipeg, Jersey, Huntsville, and Cincy keep buying. The AL Pennant should be very exciting this season.

Can anyone take knock ofHuntsville in the NL? Dayton and Winnipeg will be tough in short series.

FA Transactions

I'm still unsure how to handle and store FA Claims. For the moment I will keep them with the regular transacations. Do you guys like them together or do you think trades / FA claims should be separate?

Either way I just added all the June/July FA Claims to the database. If you check out your team page you should probably see a few.

Logo's added to team pages

A few managers asked me if I could add their team logos from the old BYOF website to our current BYOF team pages. The answer is yes!! Since I have one team web page reading from a database all I needed to do was add the name of the image (i.e. mission.jpg) to the database and tell the page to view it. Done !

Some info and guidelines about images:

- All the logos sent to me must be no larger then 100 px by 100 px. You can send them to me larger but I will need to resize them down.
- The old logos were resized to have the height or width = 100 px (I attached the logos I had from before)
- Anybody can submit a logo. Even if you want to update your old one. I encourage everyone to create a team logo.
- I'm using the BYOF logo as the default until teams submit personal ones.

New Feature: E-Mail League via website

I created an online form where you can contact the entire league via our Yahoo E-Mail account.

Under the League Members menu you will see E-Mail League. It will check to see if you are logged in. Once logged in it grabs your e-mail address from the database and adds it to the From:

The rest is easy. Add your name/team, subject and message body. Hit SEND and it will be e-mailed immediately.

Now you can e-mail the league without using your e-mail account. It's also only for league members so nobody outside can use it.

Team Pages Launched

I'm very excited! I have built team pages on the website. You can see the Team Pages link under the League Menu.

It will have your team colors, recent transactions and all the draft picks you currently own. In time it could have other team info like rosters, logos and ballpark info.

The good news is these pages build automatically from a database.

I hope you enjoy them. If you have any suggestions on things you would like added just let me know.

Don't forget to send me your team colors. If you don't like the way they look on the site just send me new colors.
