2006 BYOF All-Star Game

The BYOF All-Star game will be played around July 11, 2006 (same as MLB GAME).

Colby and Chris have volunteered to handle the NL and AL teams. If anyone would like to volunteer for next year let me know. It would be nice to get two new managers each year.
The rosters will be chosen after the June games have been played.

Please e-mail me who you think deserves to make it on your team. Rank them so Chris and Colby know who takes priority. Deadline for e-mailing your players is June 20, 2006. I will compile the list and send to Colby and Chris.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Transactions Finished

All the transactions are in the web database and updated. If you see any errors let me know.

Now that this is done I have some things I would like to add in the future.
  • Add Paging - I would like to have the webpage show 10-15 transactions, and then have links to go to the Next Page.
  • Eventually I hope to have the ability for you to query just transacations for your team. This can be done with the current setup.

Thanks

Updated May Stats

You can now find the latest stats on the website. I also added direct links for the AL and NL Standings.

I plan on adding something to navigate rosters and teams better. I will let you know when I figure it out.

BIO: Dragons new manager

Name: Bob Courter

Quote Bob:

I have been involved with Fantasy Baseball since 1988. I started in the BCBL while we were using the Instant Replay card game. I was the commissioner for the BCBL for 2 seasons giving up my duties when the current commissioner decided he wanted to retake over the reigns. He was the original commissioner of the league when it started in 1978 so I felt it was not an issue to let him take it back.

In the mid nineties I joined the ADML and several of off-shoot leagues including old timers league starting with 1950 and 1963 (which I am still in and we are playing 1974 next season, this league was renamed TSL last season).

I also play in the LCL which is another old timer league. I was the expansion San Diego Padres in 1971 and we are now playing 1975.

I am currently the commissioner of the ADML II which is a current day league and I have run it for over 5 seasons.

I have attended 3 baseball fantasy camps and have played a game in both Wrigley Field and the old Comiskey park. I have the distinction of saying that I have been struck out and gotten a hit off of 2 different Hall of fame pitchers. Fergie Jenkins struck me out and I got a hit off Hoyt Wilhelm.

I also collect Hall of Fame autographs photos and I am currently looking at Mickey Mantle, Mike Schmidt, Frank Robinson, Ernie Banks, Nolan Ryan, Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron, Lou Brock, Joe Dimaggio among others.

I am leagues with several of the members of this league including Rick Michal, Frank McIlvaine and Mike Bush.

New Warpigs Manager Bio

Name: Andrew Allen:

Quote Allen:

I am a displaced Texan who currently resides in Boston where I just finished my 2nd year of law school at Boston University. I'm 27 and unmarried. I'm in one other league that keeps 12 players from year to year. Finally I am probably a Billy Beane-ish type of GM as I enjoy number crunching and tend not to bunt or steal very often and value high OBP guys.

Warpigs get new ownership

Andrew Allen has just be brought on to take over the Cheyenne Warpigs - AL. He is starting immediately with June games.

He is an experienced DMB manager and will be an excellant addition.

Welcome Andrew.

Transactions almost done

You may have noticed the transactions starting to appear on the site. I took Mike's Word Document and imported them into the web database. I'm just updating the dates. As I update them they start appearing.

If you see any transactions where the dates look way off let me know and I will fix them. Colby has been a big help.

Hopefully everyone enjoys viewing the league transactions here.

BYOF 2.0 Up and Running

Welcome to BYOFonline V2.0

I'm sorry for the delay. I hope you enjoy it.

I have things to still finish like adding Transactions to the database. That being said I wanted everyone to get feel for what this will look like.

A few important things:

-- Anybody who wants to post on the blog can. It would get some current news flowing in. (I sent invites awhile back)
-- HTML Constitution online
-- Managers Contact Info
-- April Stats and Rosters posted.

More updates soon.

Thanks
Rob
