The final month approaches

The dog days of summer are over and we are heading to September. We have some close races and wildcards which should be interesting to follow. Sadly some divisions are over and many teams were not close to making the playoffs. Hopefully more teams are in it next year.

Looking forward to seeing the database and the updated stats.

Deadline Penalities

I agree with the deadline penalities. They are on the same order of overuse of hitters or pitchers. The leagues can quickly fall apart if the members can't count on a regular schedule due to hold ups on the league.

21 Inning Game

This must be BYOF record! The Dragons and Tigers played a 21 inning game. The score was 2-1 and used 13 pitchers. Talk about good pitching! Personally I have never seen a game like this.

Isringhausen finally blows a save

After 40 consective saves Jason Isringhausen finally blew a save. It happened in August vs the Moonlight. He has been pretty much been automatic and is one of the many reasons the Tigers are in first place in the AL West.

Deadline Penalties Needed

I feel the time has come for deadlines and penalties for reporting. In my first year in BYOF I have really enjoyed Mike's hands off approach for handling the league. This is refreshing from another league I was in before.

The only problem I see is that some people have taken advantage of this. Mike has asked many times that results be posted by a certain date yet when he goes to check the website -- no results. This sets back the league but especially Mike who operates on a busy schedule.

I think the penalties should be something like if you're late twice with no prior e-mail you lose your first round pick. This is a discussion for the league committee but this would be my idea.

Welcome to the BYOF Blog

I would like to welcome everyone to the Build Your Own Franchise Blog.

What is a Weblog? A Weblog is a unique form of story telling that's native to the Net. Blogs combine personal observations and hyperlinks to other resources online on specific topics. Each Blogger brings a different perspective on the issues and topics of the day. It is a chronological, up-to-date e-journal entry of their thoughts and opinions.

This will be a blog where all league managers are welcome to contribute. What's great about blogs are bloggers can say as little or as much as they want. Bloggers can talk about the league, teams, trades, rules, etc. You can also leave comments.

I hope everyone enjoys this.
