(thanks to Earl for the write up)
Game 1 - It starts as a pitching duel between Webb & Halladay. Westbury starts with a run in the 5th on a double play hit by I. Rod. Then they get 3 in the 6th on an RBI triple by Pujols. Houston would chip away with a run in the 6th, 7th & 8th but the Westbury bullpen gets the final 4 batters to preserve a 4-3 win
Halladay - win, Webb - loss, F. Rod - save -noGW RBI
Game 2 - Houston jumps quickly to a 4-0 lead off of Santana but Westbury comes right back with 4 in the 5th to take a 5-4 lead. But this time the Westbury bullpen would fail as the inning starts on a Freel error and it would lead to 2 unearned runs,,,Houston bullpen did the job and they pulled even with a 8-5 win..Wang - win Dempster - loss - wagner save GW RBI- Church
Game 3 - Roger Clemens and Bob Howry combine on a 8 hit shutout and Westbury hits 6 solo homers (5 off of Weaver) in a 9-0 win...
Clemens - win Weaver - loss GW RBI - Beltran
Game 4 - Houston evens it up as 4 pitchers combine on a 9 hit shutout. Westbury left bases loaded in 3rd, and two men on in the 7th & 9th with no success. Not much offense for Houston as they only had 4 hits, but an RBI single by Craig Wilson and some insurance of 2 unearned runs were more than enough... Verlander - win Billingsley - loss, Bradford - save
Game 5 - Halladay gets hit around for 6 runs...Houston cruises behind Webb in a 6-2 win... Webb goes to 1-1, Halladay drops to 1-1
Game 6 - This game made the 75 WS game 6 look boring....
Vlad starts off with a solo shot in the 1st, then it becomes a pitching duel until the 6th. Houston scratches a run in the 6th on a Peralta single to lead 2-0
In the bottom of the 6th, Wang hit a wall - he gave up 4 hits and a walk with 2 outs and Westbury jumped to a 5-2 lead.Wes Helms would tie it up for Houston in the top of the 7th with a 3 run homer. No more scoring for a while..In the 13th, F. Rod gave up a lead off triple to Nady. With infield way in, Peralta grounded out to short and Lopez struck out, after a IW to Lamb, F. Rod got of it with a ground out from Matheny....This would prove to hurt Houston. In the 14th - Barry Bonds hit a pinch-hit double to lead off the inning. Guillen would fly out and Beltran walked, then Wainright walked Pujols to load the bases. Finally, Juan Rivera singled to end this 14 inning instant classic 6-5
Juan Rincon - win Wainright - loss
Game 7 - this would be anti-climatic....Pujols hits a 2 run homer off of Weaver in the 1st, then in the 5th, a Valentin solo homer and a Beltran 2 run homer broke the game open..Clemens cruised through 7 shutout innings and Westbury would take the series with a 6-2 win..
Clemens -win -2-0 Weaver - loss -0-2
